On 15 October 2026, Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, a partner of the BOOSTSCIENCE consortium, joined the international ErasmusDays2026 initiative, celebrating the power of European cooperation to inspire innovation, strengthen partnerships and create new opportunities for higher education.
During the session “Partnership Without Borders: Successful Practices and Results of Erasmus+ Projects,” Professor Maria Bayliak presented the BOOSTSCIENCE project, introducing its vision, key activities and expected contribution to transforming Biology and Chemistry education in Ukraine.
How can we ensure that university education keeps pace with scientific advances and the evolving needs of the labour market?
This question lies at the heart of BOOSTSCIENCE, which aims to modernise higher education in Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry by strengthening the connection between academic knowledge, practical research experience and professional competences.
An important part of the presentation focused on the overall project results, including:
✓ Questionnaires conducted among different stakeholder groups, whose perspectives have helped identify existing competence gaps and areas where educational programmes need further development.
✓ The outcomes of the international workshop “Reshaping Ukrainian and European Universities,” which brought together around 60 participants from Ukraine, Spain and Greece.
✓ The development of new syllabi for students in Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, designed to better reflect contemporary scientific developments, emerging.
