Biochemistry Students Visited the “Biopharma” Pharmaceutical Plant in Bila Tserkva

From February 26 to March 1, 2026, students of the Biology and Biochemistry program — from first-year undergraduates to master’s students — of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University took part in an educational and professional visit to the city of Bila Tserkva. The trip was supervised by Professor Volodymyr Lushchak and Associate Professor Volodymyr Shvydchak and combined an introduction to modern pharmaceutical production with professional communication and team interaction among students.

The visit took place within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE – BOOSTSCIENCE “Enhancing the Quality of Education and Entrepreneurial Thinking in Natural Sciences in Ukraine”, which aims to improve the quality of education and foster entrepreneurial thinking in the natural sciences in Ukraine.

During the visit, students toured the Biopharma pharmaceutical plant, where they became acquainted with modern technologies used in the production of medicinal products, observed the operation of high-tech equipment, and learned more about product quality control systems that comply with international standards. Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of organizing the production process and implementing innovations in the pharmaceutical industry.

Students also had the opportunity to meet representatives of the innovative startup company Preci, which demonstrates how scientific ideas can be transformed into real technological solutions. Participants learned about the stages of building a startup, the challenges faced by young biotechnology companies, and the prospects for the development of the sector in Ukraine.

In addition to the intensive scientific and educational program, the trip became a great opportunity for informal communication and strengthening connections among students from different years of study. Living together, discussing what they had seen, and sharing impressions contributed to the development of a professional community of future biochemists.

This visit once again confirmed that Ukraine hosts modern world-class production facilities, that biotechnology is actively developing, and that innovative solutions are being created. Such trips are an important element of practice-oriented education and motivate students toward further professional development.

We sincerely thank our partners for their warm welcome and the valuable collaborative experience.
