From March 22 to 28, as part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility program (Project KA171-2025 – Mobility Project for Higher Education Students and Staff), a delegation from our university—comprising Professor Maria Bayliak, Head of the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and Associate Professor Lesia Polova, a representative of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Resort Management and the Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Tourism, to the Jakub of Paradyż Academy (Akademia im. Jakuba z Paradyża) in Gożów Wielkopolski, Republic of Poland.
The Jakub z Paradyż Academy in Gożów Wielkopolski is a modern state institution of higher education that actively develops international cooperation, participates in European educational and scientific programs, and provides training for specialists in the fields of economics, technical sciences, humanities, and tourism. The Academy is known for its practice-oriented approach to education, innovative infrastructure, and openness to intercultural academic exchange.
As part of the visit, the faculty members delivered a series of lectures to students from various programs and to academic staff at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the partner university, presenting modern scientific approaches, the results of their own research, and interdisciplinary practices.
Professor Maria Bayliak delivered a series of lectures on microbiology in English. The topics of the lectures included the fundamentals of the structure, metabolism, and growth of microorganisms; the basics of food microbiology; issues related to antibiotics and antibiotic resistance; and methods of sterilization and disinfection in the food industry and laboratory practice.
Participation in the Erasmus+ program helps expand the university’s international cooperation, improve the quality of education, and foster integration into the European educational and research landscape. Such exchanges of experience open new opportunities to develop educational programs, implement innovative teaching methods, and strengthen academic ties.
We sincerely thank the International Relations Department of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University for its organizational support and assistance in facilitating academic mobility, which makes such initiatives possible and deepens the university’s international cooperation.
